Save The Crew
Save The Crew was a grassroots campaign launched with the goal of halting the relocation of Columbus Crew SC of Major League Soccer from Columbus, Ohio to Austin, Texas. A year and a half long campaign saw fans come together to develop a internationally recognized movement that led to a number of high profile projects, acknowledgment and support from local business and civic leaders, and ultimately the successful purchase of the team by new owners committed to keeping the team in Columbus and developing it into a league leader.
Written, filmed, edited, and published over a span of just 3 days, the “Dear Austin” video was one of the first large scale creative projects undertaken by the Save The Crew team. In addition to eclipsing 10 thousand views in the first 24 hours, it received nationwide coverage from a variety of news outlets, including being featured on the front page of ESPN FC.
